Job summary

Speechify in the United States seeks a senior Windows desktop architect/developer to define and ship our Windows product. You will design and implement native Windows apps using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, XAML, and sometimes C++.

You’ll drive accessibility, performance, and cross-version compatibility, collaborating with design, QA, and product teams to deliver reliable, polished experiences for millions of users.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Windows desktop app development using Windows App SDK/WinUI, C#, XAML; native Windows code experience a plus.
• Strong understanding of Windows app architecture, interop between .NET and native code.
• Proven track record shipping production-grade desktop apps with focus on reliability and performance.
• Experience with accessibility APIs and building inclusive software.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, architecture, and development of Windows desktop applications using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, XAML; occasional C++.
• Enforce best practices for architecture, performance, memory, UI responsiveness, and cross-version compatibility.
• Drive accessibility efforts: UI Automation, keyboard navigation, screen readers; ensure inclusive UX.
• Collaborate with product, UX, QA to shape feature planning and long-term roadmap for Windows platform.
• Own features end-to-end from conception to maintenance, ensuring quality and reliability.
• Identify and resolve complex bugs, performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, and rendering issues.
