Job summary

ASM Research seeks a Cloud Engineer - Windows to design, implement, and support cloud-hosted Windows server environments that underpin mission-critical applications in secure federal cloud or hybrid infrastructures.

You will build and maintain VMs, images, and automation to provision Windows workloads efficiently, while enforcing security, availability, and cost objectives across the client environment. This role requires US citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 4–7+ years of Windows system administration experience in cloud environments (Azure/AWS).
• Proficient in scripting/automation (PowerShell, Python) and IaC tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Solid understanding of cloud networking, IAM, logging, and monitoring.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Architect and administer Windows server instances in public or private cloud platforms.
• Design cloud networking constructs (virtual networks, subnets, load balancers).
• Automate Windows deployment and configuration using scripting and IaC.
• Integrate Windows with directory services and identity providers with strict access controls.
• Monitor and tune Windows systems for performance, availability, and cost.
• Collaborate with security, DevOps, and applications teams to integrate Windows workloads into CI/CD.
• Implement backup, recovery, and DR processes per federal IT policies.
• Maintain documentation, runbooks, and diagrams of architectures and procedures.
