US Office of the Secretary of the Interior is seeking a Wildland Firefighter (Fuels Management) GW-0456-13. The role requires extensive primary wildland firefighting experience and the ability to lead policy development and interagency coordination across multiple units.

Qualifications

• Prior firefighting experience is a mandatory prerequisite.
• Must demonstrate primary wildland firefighting experience with months, days, and hours per week.
• At least one full fire season in a primary wildland firefighting role or 14 days of fireline experience are required.

Responsabilités

• Develops, evaluates, and implements wildland fire and fuels management policies and program guidance across multiple units.
• Leads program reviews, assessments, and audits of wildland fire and fuels management operations; identifies deficiencies and corrective actions.
• Coordinates development, review, and approval of Fire Management Plans and fuels treatment strategies; ensures alignment with land management objectives.
