Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Environmental Scientist to join our ecology and wetlands team in the United States, including ND and Mandan locations. You will perform wetland delineations, ecological surveys, and assist with regulatory permitting and compliance across diverse projects.

The role requires 3–5 years of relevant wetland experience, a BS degree, and ability to travel up to 75% for field work. Preference given to candidates with PWS or related certifications and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree with 3–5 years of relevant wetland experience.
• Experience leading wetland delineations per USACE Manual and Regional Supplements.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% and work in the field.
• PWS certification or state wetland certification preferred.
• Ability to collaborate with clients, peers, management, and vendors.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Willingness to travel regionally with overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Wetland and water resource delineation and characterization.
• Botanical surveys, habitat mapping, endangered species assessments.
• Prepare wetland delineation and technical reports for clients/regulators.
• Support environmental permitting and compliance for federal/state requirements.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary environmental assessments.
• Data management and analysis.
• Attend client/regulatory meetings and provide input.
• Possible wildlife surveys and ecological restoration tasks.
