A reputable recycling company located in Clearwater, Florida, is seeking a Full-Time Welding/Fabrication Specialist. The role involves operating MIG and Stick welding processes, overseeing container repairs, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Applicants should have experience in welding and the capability to lift 50 pounds. Qualifications

  • Experience using MIG and Stick welding process; TIG/spot welding is a plus.
  • Capable of machine setup including wire speed and gas flow.
  • Ability to operate shop tools and equipment safely.
  • Must follow safety procedures and print shop instructions.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding outdoor/indoor conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain safety, quality, and productivity in the welding area.
  • Oversee container/Baler repairs and rebuild truck bodies.
  • Document preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Prepare paperwork to complete orders and process shop drawings.
  • Order and maintain welding supplies; perform preventive maintenance.
  • Supervise direct reports and schedule work.
  • Ensure clean, safe work environment; report safety issues.
  • Pack and prepare material for shipping.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Description


  • Maintain a high attention to safety, quality, and productivity in the welding/fabrication area

  • MIG and Stick welding, must know how to use the torch and rosebud operation.

  • Familiar with metals, steel and fabrications.

  • Oversee all the container/Baler repairs.

  • Rebuilding of truck bodies, roll‑off containers and front‑load containers.

  • Instructions on work orders and shop drawings and verify material and work for accuracy

  • Prepare and process all paperwork necessary to complete orders

  • Order and maintain necessary levels of shop and welding supplies

  • Maintain equipment by following required preventative maintenance schedules and documenting tasks

  • Able to interpret drawings, layouts, plan work and use sound judgment.

  • Observe safety procedures, assure self and others safety and report any safety issues

  • Properly stack processed material and pack as required in preparation for shipping.

  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

  • Supervise direct reports and schedule work

  • Perform other duties as assigned


Requirements


  • Experience using MIG and Stick welding process. TIG and/or spot welding experience a plus

  • Must be capable of machine setup including proper wire speed, voltage, and gas flow

  • Ability to safely use and operate shop tools and equipment such as torches, band saws, iron workers and drill presses

  • Capable of following instructions.

  • Able to work in a physically demanding environment including working on your feet for extended periods of time, lifting material weighing up to 50 pounds and working in hot or cold conditions

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Capable of following required safety procedures including OSHA standards such as lock‑out/tag‑out and incident reporting

  • Ability to work independently in a production oriented environment and perform against established performance standards

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Ability to prioritize, organize and multi-task

  • Self‑starter with a willingness to learn


Job Type

Full-time, In-Person. This position will be working outside and under cover. Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and lift up to 50LBS.
