Job summary

Kentucky American Water is seeking a lead, licensed Water Treatment Operator to oversee and support day-to-day operations at our surface water plant in Middlesboro, KY. You will monitor the water treatment process, make control adjustments, perform light maintenance, handle chemical inventory, and help ensure safe, healthy and reliable water keeps flowing to the community.

Qualifications

• Requires safety-first mindset and adherence to safety policies (OSHA)
• Includes field testing and sampling per schedule; adjust chemicals and dosages
• Must hold Kentucky Water Treatment license Class IV (preferred) or III-A

Responsibilities

• Operate plant equipment: pumps, engines, conveyors, filters, and related systems
• Ensure standard operating procedures are followed; take corrective actions as needed
• Monitor chemical inventories and adjust dosages for process control
• Lead and supervise other staff; communicate findings to supervisor
• Perform routine maintenance and support safety training and inspections
• Respond promptly to inquiries or potential risk situations
