Job summary

Key duties include assigning work, scheduling hours, supervising operators and inmates, operating bulldozers and landfill equipment, building refuse lifts, maintaining roads and drainage, and preparing environmental reports.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, and two (2) years’ experience in road construction and maintenance and operation of related equipment; or two (2) years’ experience in landfill operations; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which demonstrate the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job.
• Valid Driver’s License required; CDL Class A within nine months; drug and alcohol testing will be conducted.

Responsibilities

• Regularly assigns work to other employees and supervises related activities.
• Provides recommendations on scheduling work hours of employees.
• Supervises machine and equipment operators, scalehouse attendants and inmates to meet regulations; builds refuse lifts and covers dirt.
• Operates bulldozers, construction of roads, and participates in equipment maintenance.
• Maintains safety policies and procedures and supports recycling/diversion programs.
