Job summary

Penske Logistics is seeking a Lead Warehouse Worker to join a safety-conscious team in Groveport, OH. This role provides supervision to regular and temporary warehouse associates and collaborates with Operations Supervisors to meet productivity goals.

The position requires forklift operation, inventory control, and strong data entry duties within a warehouse management system. Overtime may be required to support business needs.

Qualifications

• 4 years of warehouse experience required.
• 2 years of inventory or materials management experience preferred.
• 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Prior forklift certification preferred.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint preferred.
• Flexible to work overtime preferred.
• Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions.
• Ability to lead a small team, work independently, and handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of warehouse associates to achieve operational goals while championing safety and productivity.
• Executes assignments, provides status updates, and project visibility to Operations Supervisors.
• Operate forklifts, counterbalance, pallet jacks, and other equipment as needed.
• Stage and sort products; loads and unloads trailers.
• Stack totes and pallets; move materials within the warehouse.
• Electronically scan products using a warehouse management system.
• Quality control; ensure damaged products are sent out and identify damaged products when received.
• Complete daily logs and communicate with associates from other shifts or departments.
• Read work orders or receive instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs.
• Enter data and maintain inventory records as needed.
• Open and close dock doors.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.

Position Summary:

Penske Logistics is looking for a Lead Warehouse Worker to become part of an excellent team. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are safety conscious and have a pleasant, outgoing attitude who want to excel in a warehouse environment.

The Lead Warehouse Worker provides support and some supervision to regular and temporary warehouse associate functions. Works closely with Operations Supervisors to ensure employee productivity expectations are met. Provides a variety of responsibilities to meet the supervisors' expectations.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM

Overtime as required by business needs

Pay: $24.50 per hour + 1.00 shift differential = $25.50/hr

Major Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of warehouse associates to achieve operational goals while championing safety and productivity

• Executes assignments, provides status updates, & project visibility to Operations Supervisor(s)

• Operate forklifts, counterbalance, pallet jacks, and other equipment as needed

• Reads customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be loaded/unloaded

• Uses computer to enter data and maintains inventory records as needed

• Opens and closes dock doors

• Maintain a clean and safe work area

• Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

• 4 years of warehouse experience required
• 2 years of inventory or materials management experience preferred
• 2 years of supervisory experience preferred
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior forklift certification preferred
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint preferred
• Ability to learn and use proprietary software required
• Flexible to work overtime preferred
• Ability to work in non-climate controlled conditions
• Ability to lead a small team, ability to work independently, customer service, dealing with others, multi-tasking skills, organizational skills, flexibility required, excellent with numbers, time management, and ability to execute are required.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.
