Job summary

Petco Hospital is seeking a Hospital Leader On Duty to provide excellent veterinary care to hospital patients and outstanding customer care to owners. The role sets the tone with staff and is responsible for fostering cohesion and motivation within the team, under supervision from the Area Operations Manager.

The position requires leadership capabilities, experience in a veterinary setting, and strong communication.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a veterinary practice.

Responsibilities

  • Greet clients and patients, collect data, and document visits in EMR.
  • Assist doctors with appointments, surgery, dentistry, euthanasia under supervision.
  • Monitor calls, schedule appointments, provide client education.
  • Assist with anesthesia and monitor during procedures.
  • In-hospital treatments and medication administration under supervision.
  • Train new staff and maintain hospital cleanliness.
  • Oversee hospital operations and supervise paraprofessional staff.
  • Ensure adherence to Petco and Vetco Total Care policies.
