Job summary

Sheridan Pet Care is seeking an experienced Lead Veterinary Technician to shape a growing hospital. You’ll partner with the owner to set medical standards, train the team, and improve workflows so patients and staff thrive.

Lead anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, and nursing care, mentor teammates, and help develop onboarding. In a small, collaborative setting, your ideas will directly influence daily operations and the hospital’s future.

Qualifications

• Several years of veterinary technician experience; credentialed technicians strongly preferred.
• Love anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, and patient nursing.
• Experience training or mentoring team members.
• Passion for quality medicine and continuous improvement.
• Enjoy building systems rather than merely following them.

Responsibilities

• Lead anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, and nursing care while upholding high patient safety and clinical quality.
• Train and mentor veterinary assistants and technicians; develop onboarding and training programs.
• Partner with the practice owner to improve workflows, SOPs, and inventory management; shape hospital culture.

Who We Are

Sheridan Pet Care is a locally owned and intentionally independent small animal practice dedicated to providing compassionate, relationship-centered care for dogs and cats throughout every stage of life.

Our services include:

• Surgery
• Advanced dentistry with full-mouth dental radiographs

• In-house laboratory and pharmacy

What You'll Do

Lead Exceptional Patient Care

• Assist with appointments, surgery, anesthesia, dentistry, diagnostics, and nursing care
• Ensure high standards of patient safety and medical quality
• Promote Fear Free, low-stress patient handling
• Help continually improve patient care protocols and clinical efficiency

Build an Outstanding Technician Team

• Train and mentor veterinary assistants and technicians
• Help develop onboarding and clinical training programs
• Coach team members with patience, encouragement, and accountability
• Foster confidence and growth in others

Partner in Building the Hospital

• Collaborate directly with the practice owner on workflow improvements
• Help develop standard operating procedures and best practices
• Support inventory management and equipment maintenance
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency while maintaining exceptional medicine
• Serve as a positive leader who helps create a culture people are excited to be part of

You're an experienced technician who loves veterinary medicine and helping your team thrive.
