Petco is seeking a highly skilled veterinarian to join our Vetco Total Care hospital in Riverside, CA. You will deliver high-quality medical and surgical care, including dentistry and specialty procedures, while guiding a compassionate team and maintaining excellent client communication.

Ideal candidates hold a D.V.M. from an AVMA-accredited school, active California licensure, and DEA/USDA credentials, with comfort in anesthesia and various surgeries.

Qualifications

• Must hold Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA-accredited school and be licensed to practice in the state of employment.
• Active veterinary license in the state or ability to obtain by start date.
• Current DEA license and applicable Controlled Substance License.
• USDA accreditation (I) or able to obtain within two months of hire.
• Ability to perform anesthesia and routine surgeries (canine and feline).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, compassionate, and team-oriented.

Responsabilités

• Provide excellent patient care by performing physical examinations, diagnosing and treating diseases, and providing preventive care tailored to each patient.
• Utilize a problem-based approach with comprehensive problem lists, differential diagnoses, diagnostic plans, and treatments.
• Document all patient observations, exams, diagnostics, treatments, and client communications in the medical record.
• Perform routine and complex surgical procedures including spays/neuters, abdominal explorations, and mass removals.
• Perform routine and complex dental procedures including full dental exams, radiographs, extractions, and oral surgery.
• Develop treatment plans for day hospitalizations and coordinate with referral hospitals for continuity of care.
