Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital of Akron is seeking a Veterinary Anesthesiologist for a full-time role in Akron, OH. The hospital offers a collaborative environment with ER doctors, board-certified specialists, and experienced nursing staff focused on exceptional patient care and medical excellence.

You will deliver comprehensive anesthesia and perioperative care for scheduled procedures and emergencies, develop individualized plans, mentor anesthesia technicians, and contribute to protocol

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree and eligibility for state licensure.
• Board Certification in Veterinary Anesthesiology or residency trained.
• Strong communication with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
• Experience with locoregional anesthesia techniques is a plus.
• Commitment to patient safety and exceptional perioperative care.

Responsabilités

• Deliver comprehensive anesthesia and perioperative care for scheduled specialty procedures and emergencies.
• Develop individualized anesthetic plans based on patient condition and procedure.
• Perform locoregional anesthesia techniques using ultrasound and nerve stimulation.
• Collaborate with Surgery, Emergency, Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, and other specialties.
• Provide anesthesia support for a growing caseload and expand access to anesthesiology services.
• Mentor anesthesia technicians and support staff.
• Contribute to anesthesia protocols, safety standards, and clinical best practices.
• Communicate clearly with clinicians, clients, and referring veterinarians.
• Help shape growth of the anesthesiology service as the hospital expands.
