Job summary

Modern Animal is hiring a Lead Veterinarian in California who will lead a team of veterinarians, mentor associates, and drive the clinic toward excellence in medical quality and client experience.

You will collaborate with the clinic manager, uphold a supportive, blame-free culture, and advocate for the well-being of the clinical team to sustain joy in practice. A strong emphasis on leadership and clinical excellence is essential.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year leading veterinarian teams and 5+ years as a practicing DVM.
• Graduate of an AVMA-accredited veterinary school or eligible to practice in the United States.
• Active California veterinary license in good standing.
• No malpractice or disciplinary actions.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of veterinarians by modeling excellent medical practice.
• Mentor associate doctors to improve client satisfaction, teamwork, medical quality, and efficiency.
• Empower the care team to deliver an unparalleled client experience.
• Collaborate with the clinic manager to drive overall clinic performance in medical quality and employee engagement.
• Foster a culture of self-compassion and a blame- and judgment-free environment.
• Lead well-being initiatives to promote the veterinary profession’s joy and sustainability.
