Job summary

Stellantis in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking a Senior Safety Performance Engineer to lead safety development for assigned vehicle programs, ensuring all safety functional objectives are achieved on time, including impact script development and test planning.

You will own safety performance during vehicle integration and validation, guide the attribute team, and coordinate with CAE for virtual validation, with travel to Chelsea Proving Grounds as needed.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of vehicle development and safety experience.
• Experience guiding vehicle design using virtual analysis and physical testing.
• Broad knowledge of vehicle regulatory and 3rd party requirements.
• Experience dealing with cross-functional issues (Durability, Safety, NVH, Aero).
• Strategic thinking, strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to summarize and present work.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety development activities for vehicle programs and ensure safety objectives are met.
• Own safety performance, guide the attribute team, support tech club and program requests.
• Investigate issues, determine root cause, and document resolutions.
• Plan and execute physical and component tests from concept through launch, coordinate with CAE.
• Travel to Chelsea Proving Grounds as needed.
