Job summary

Ascenzi & Associates LLC seeks an experienced VDC/BIM Specialist – Lead Modeler to support complex high-tech and advanced manufacturing facility projects in the Phoenix metro area. You will implement VDC/BIM processes, coordinate multidisciplinary models, and improve project delivery through advanced modeling and reality-capture technologies.

The role requires leading BIM coordination across engineering, design, and construction teams, with emphasis on producing clash-free models, 3D laser scan

The successful candidate will work across engineering, design, construction, and project teams to establish BIM workflows, coordinate multidisciplinary models, identify and resolve conflicts, and improve project execution through advanced modeling and reality-capture technologies.

Experience supporting semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, data center, pharmaceutical, cleanroom, or other complex industrial facilities is highly desirable.

This position will play a key role in project coordination and delivery through the implementation of Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes. The successful candidate will work across engineering, design, construction, and project teams to establish BIM workflows, coordinate multidisciplinary models, identify and resolve conflicts, and improve project execution through advanced modeling and reality-capture technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with project teams to establish project-specific VDC/BIM requirements, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Develop and implement VDC/BIM execution plans, schedules, standards, and workflows.
  • Lead and support multidisciplinary BIM coordination across engineering and construction teams.
  • Facilitate BIM coordination meetings, clash-detection sessions, and multidisciplinary model reviews.
  • Monitor VDC/BIM activities to ensure project milestones and deliverables are achieved.
  • Develop and maintain BIM standards, guidelines, and protocols.
  • Perform quality-control reviews to ensure model accuracy, consistency, and compliance with established standards.
  • Process 3D laser scan and point-cloud data for incorporation into design and construction models.
  • Perform specialized modeling applications including 4D simulations, point-layout extraction, and related VDC workflows.
  • Provide technical guidance on BIM modeling, clash detection, and model-coordination processes.
  • Facilitate collaboration and information exchange between architects, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Train and support project teams in BIM software, standards, and workflows.
  • Assist project management with scopes, proposals, and specifications for reality capture, 3D laser scanning, and outsourced BIM/VDC services.
  • Evaluate emerging VDC/BIM technologies and recommend tools and processes that improve project delivery.
Qualifications

Qualified candidates should have professional experience in VDC, BIM, model coordination, digital construction, or a related design/construction technology discipline.

Candidates should demonstrate experience with:

  • BIM model development and multidisciplinary coordination.
  • BIM execution planning and workflow implementation.
  • Clash detection and coordination reviews.
  • Quality control of BIM models and deliverables.
  • Coordination between engineering, design, construction, and trade partners.
  • Modern BIM/VDC software and digital project-delivery workflows.

Experience with the following is particularly valuable:

  • Revit and Navisworks
  • Reality capture and 3D laser scanning
  • Point-cloud processing
  • 4D modeling/simulation
  • Model-based field layout
  • Advanced manufacturing or industrial facility design
  • Semiconductor fabrication facilities and cleanroom environments

Candidates with experience leading BIM/VDC coordination or serving as a lead modeler on complex multidisciplinary projects are strongly encouraged to apply.

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $88,000–$115,000/year, depending on experience, location, certifications, and project complexity.

The position will support project teams operating across Pacific and Central time zones.
