Job summary

Hinge is seeking a Lead Researcher for Growth to steer research strategy and shape the Growth product team's roadmap, improving user experiences worldwide.

You will collaborate with researchers, PMs, designers, data scientists, CX and marketing to uncover monetization opportunities, measure sentiment, and mentor other researchers while championing inclusive, empathetic product development.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years in user research, including 2–3 years in consumer-facing product research.
  • Experience with monetization, subscriptions, or new revenue streams.
  • Strong quantitative methods and sentiment measurement in experiments.
  • Proven ability to tell clear data-driven stories and influence decisions.

About the Role

Lead research strategy to build and drive the research roadmap for Growth product teams. Improve user experiences on Hinge worldwide and drive product excellence within the Growth product group.

Responsibilities
  • Build and drive the research roadmap for Growth product teams.
  • Develop and execute end‑to‑end research using appropriate methods from strategic to iterative and evaluative to help the team achieve goals.
  • Conduct research on international expansion, monetization and merchandising.
  • Build inclusive products, considering different audiences’ needs and accessibility.
  • Collaborate with researchers, product managers, designers, data scientists, customer experience, marketing and brand strategy to identify key research questions and prioritize projects.
  • Generate actionable insights that help teams make decisions and build momentum toward the mission.
  • Model honest, empathetic communication and help partners navigate ambiguity with confidence and care.
What We’re Looking For
  • 6+ years of user research experience, including 2–3 years in a consumer‑facing product research role.
  • Experience working on monetization, subscriptions, or new revenue streams or zero‑to‑one products.
  • Strong quantitative skills (e.g., survey, experimental) with expertise in measuring sentiment in experiment frameworks.
  • Proficiency in data manipulation, analysis, and dashboard creation with R, SPSS, or Looker (or similar statistical software).
  • Strong communicator, committed to telling clear and compelling stories with data.
  • Proactive in building and sustaining trusting relationships with cross‑functional partners.
  • Eager to learn from, collaborate with, and mentor other researchers.
  • Champion team culture in authentic, courageous, and empathic ways.
