Job summary

EPITEC is seeking an experienced Lead UX Designer who is passionate about building intuitive digital products and using AI to accelerate the design process. You will own the UX lifecycle from research to high-fidelity prototypes, balancing user needs with measurable business value.

This remote, 1-month contract with potential extensions offers collaboration with product, engineers, researchers, and content designers to deliver accessible and user-centered experiences.

Qualifications

• Must have a degree in design or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in product/UX/UI design in digital environments.
• Strong user-centered design and human-computer interaction knowledge.
• Experience planning or conducting user research, usability testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, and heuristic analysis.
• Demonstrated experience using AI tools for UX ideation, design exploration, workflow development, or rapid prototyping.
• Strong visual, interaction, and product design skills.
• Working understanding of basic front-end development and technical feasibility.
• Knowledge of accessibility and usability principles.
• Experience with geographically distributed teams and collaborating with product and engineering partners.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain design decisions clearly.

Responsibilities

• Translate concepts into user flows, journey maps, wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes.
• Use findings from user interviews, surveys, and research to inform UX decisions.
• Conduct usability research and testing to validate workflows and improve product experiences.
• Use AI-powered design and prototyping tools to accelerate ideation and create high-fidelity prototypes.
• Prototype AI-enabled experiences and workflows for validation with customers and stakeholders.
• Simplify complex information into intuitive, visually compelling experiences.
• Create reusable UX components and contribute to design systems and patterns.
• Apply Lean product development principles with experimentation and validated learning.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, researchers, content designers, and stakeholders.
• Ensure designs meet usability, accessibility, and human-centered standards.
• Balance multiple projects based on customer value, ROI and business impact.
• Evaluate emerging AI capabilities with sound UX judgment and ethics.

About The Role

We’re seeking an experienced Lead UX Designer who is passionate about creating intuitive digital products and excited about using AI to accelerate the design process.

In this role, you’ll turn customer insights and complex business needs into simple, user-centered experiences. You’ll work across the full UX lifecycle, from research and journey mapping through wireframes, prototypes, usability testing, and iteration. You’ll also use modern AI-powered tools to quickly explore ideas, develop prototypes, and validate new product experiences.

What You’ll Do

• Partner closely with product managers, engineers, researchers, content designers, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure designs meet strong usability, accessibility, and human-centered design standards.
• Balance multiple projects and priorities based on customer value, ROI, and business impact.
• Evaluate emerging AI capabilities while applying sound UX judgment, critical thinking, and ethical considerations.

What You’ll Need

• Degree in a related discipline and 7+ years of experience in product design, UX design, or UI design within fully digital environments.
• Strong understanding of user-centered design and human-computer interaction.
• Hands-on experience creating user flows, wireframes, journeys, mockups, and prototypes.
• Experience planning or conducting user research, usability testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, and heuristic analysis.
• Demonstrated experience using AI tools for UX ideation, design exploration, workflow development, or rapid prototyping.
• Strong visual, interaction, and product design skills.
• Working understanding of basic front-end development and technical feasibility.
• Knowledge of accessibility and usability principles.
• Experience working with geographically distributed teams and collaborating with product and engineering partners.
