Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking a dynamic utility foreperson/foreman to lead a 2-5 person crew in outdoor tasks for major electric utility providers. You will prune, remove, and maintain trees while following safety and industry guidelines.

Office view is outdoors; growth depends on performance, and advancement opportunities exist within one of the nation’s largest employee-owned environmental service groups.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in utility line clearance tree trimming.
• Line clearance experience or other related tree work.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Preferred: CDL Class A or B without air brake restriction.
• Preferred: pesticide licenses if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Lead a 2-5 person tree crew in pruning and removal for utilities.
• Prune treetops and repair damaged trees by trimming or removal.
• Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and objects.
• Apply tree identification knowledge and pruning guidelines.
• Perform job-site inspections with planning and execution.
• Maintain, prepare and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Mentor and train new employees.
• Growth opportunities depend on performance.
