Job summary

Air Comfort, Inc. is seeking a UPS Technician III to perform startups, certifications, and preventive maintenance on UPS and battery systems in Dallas, TX. The role requires 50% travel to Data Center locations and leadership of crew teams to deliver projects on schedule.

Ideal candidates bring 3–5 years UPS service experience, electrical/mechanical UPS knowledge, and the ability to read electrical schematics. OSHA 30, NFPA-70E, and Thermography training are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma & a minimum of 3 to 5 years UPS service experience.
• Must have electrical/mechanical experience relating to UPS systems, DC systems and knowledge of OEMs (Eaton, Mitsubishi, Schneider, APC, GE, Emerson).
• Clean driving records a must
• Safe operation of department equipment
• Knowledge of or ability to learn basic AC/DC theory, electronic components, and electronic circuitry.
• Complete training on: 1) Digital multimeter for AC/DC diagnostics, 2) Amp Clamp and CT, 3) Phase Rotation Meter/Power Quality Analyzer/IR camera/Oscilloscope, 4) Arc-Flash PPE basics.
• Show competency in series/parallel connections; torque values and inspections.
• Understand torque values, torque-mark application, and visual inspection of completed installations.
• Understand and operate Phase Rotation meters, Power Quality.[sic]
• 50% Travel to Data Center locations required
• US Citizenship Required

Responsibilities

• Perform startups, certifications, preventative maintenance, and scheduled maintenance for UPS systems.
• Experienced in UPS replacements, new installations, and repairs.
• Lead jobs with multiple crew members of varying skill levels.
• Communicate effectively with contractors, partners, and clients to complete projects on schedule and within budget.
• Operate UPS systems, Battery systems, PDUs, ATS, and rectifiers.
• Ensure attendance and perform duties as assigned by supervisor.
