Job summary

Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. (ESS) is a leading contractor specializing in underground wet utility construction. The Utility Foreman will lead a crew installing water, sanitary and storm sewer systems, manholes, structures, and related infrastructure on active projects.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience, strong leadership, and excellent communication skills to coordinate project plans, schedules, and budgets while maintaining safety and quality standards onsite.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework or vocational training preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in underground wet utility construction.
• Experience leading crews on underground utility projects as a Foreman, Leadman, or similar supervisory role.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise crews performing underground wet utility installation, including water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, manholes, and related infrastructure.
• Read and interpret utility plans, specifications, grades, and project layouts to ensure proper installation of underground utilities.
• Coordinate trenching, pipe installation, backfilling, testing, and tie-ins while maintaining production, safety, and quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with excavation, trench safety, and utility installation requirements.
• Communicate regularly with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure that work is completed on schedule and within budget.
• Develop and maintain relationships with crew members and subcontractors to ensure that they are aware of project schedules and deadlines.
