Job summary

Sky Lakes Medical Center is seeking a Lead Ultrasound Tech for the Diagnostic Imaging department. This full-time role requires leadership in coordinating daily ultrasound operations, maintaining quality, and ensuring patient care standards.

The ideal candidate has at least five years of ultrasound radiology experience, ARDMS certification, Oregon license, and a BS degree is preferred. The position includes varied shifts and on-site work with a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Five years' experience in Ultrasound Radiology procedures.
• Ability to work independently and with coworkers and patients.
• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• BS Degree preferred.
• ARDMS certification and Oregon license.
• BLS Basic Life Support.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, and directs department activities including personnel work as assigned, continuing education, vacation, personal, holiday, and overtime schedules.
• In consultation with the Director of Diagnostic Imaging, establishes and implements policies, procedures, standards and objectives for provision of Radiology services.
• Responsible for overall quality of the Radiology department and reviews all QC generated in PACs by radiologist. Schedules follow up meetings with staff as appropriate and documents corrective action.
• Counsels and/or disciplines departmental personnel as needed/required in collaboration with the Director of Diagnostic Imaging.
• Reviews department performance, effects changes as needed to improve services and assures compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Maintains a positive and professional atmosphere for patients, physicians and co-workers.
• Performs all duties of an Ultrasound Technologist.
• The Lead Sonographer will serve as a clinical instructor for affiliated high schools and Sonography programs and will evaluate student performances.
• Will work as a “working Lead”. Will be involved in rotation of exams and invasive procedures.
• Performs other duties and tasks as assigned by the Director of Diagnostic Imaging.
