Job summary

You will move barges, equipment, and personnel safely between the work site and shore stations, adhering to Coast Guard rules and company safety policies. The role involves on-call rotation and hands-on mentoring of crew.

Qualifications

• Must hold USCG Master of Towing Vessels license (current).
• 5+ years tugboat experience in marine construction or commercial towing.
• Current TWIC card and DOT physical.
• Experience with barge handling on heavy-civil marine work preferred.
• Ability to work in all weather and participate in on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Operate tugboat per Coast Guard regulations and company safety policy.
• Move barges, derricks, and equipment between work site and dock.
• Conduct pre-departure and post-arrival vessel checks.
• Coordinate with the project superintendent on daily marine operations.
• Maintain vessel logs, fuel records, and maintenance schedules.
• Respond to marine emergencies and safety drills.
• Mentor crew on safe deck-handling practices.
