Job description

Responsible for overseeing the designated work site and workflow of Transporters. Services are provided to patients, visitors, and healthcare staff twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

Responsibilities:
  1. Serve as shift lead: Ensure patient and equipment transports are completed safely and promptly.
  2. Prioritize and communicate: Effectively communicate work priorities with staff and management.
  3. Evaluate work requirements: Assign and utilize resources efficiently based on workload.
  4. Manage transport workflows: Direct daily transport activities, resolve issues, and maximize productivity while adhering to procedures.
  5. Verify transport details: Confirm patient destination and identity, and equipment distribution accuracy.
  6. Maintain supplies: Keep inventory of necessary items.
  7. Address delays: Resolve service disruptions to maintain quality.
  8. Report issues: Notify leadership and nursing staff of any department or patient transport issues.
  9. Coordinate activities: Ensure smooth operation within the worksite, maintain reports, and foster good relations.
  10. Onboard new team members: Collaborate with supervisors to provide comprehensive onboarding.
  11. Role model professionalism: Demonstrate commitment to quality and embody the organization’s values.
  12. Perform specialized duties: Include morgue trips, body releases, managing viewings, and oxygen tank maintenance.
  13. Ensure equipment readiness: Maintain cleanliness and repair of transport equipment.
  14. Additional duties: Perform other tasks as assigned.
Position Compensation Range:

$15.00 - $22.01 Hourly

Minimum Requirements:
  • Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • Experience: 2 years relevant experience
  • Licensure: AHA Heart Saver AED Course within 90 days of hire; CDL-P within 6 months of hire
Physical Demands:

Prolonged sitting, frequent bending, stooping, traveling, standing, reaching, and driving (if licensed). Good communication, auditory, and visual skills; attention to detail; ability to lift/push/pull over 100 lbs. May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, noise, blood, body fluids, and infectious diseases.
