Job summary

You will ensure adherence to MSHSAA standards, supervise practices and competitions, and manage equipment inventory while promoting sportsmanship and academic achievement.

The role requires a four-year degree, coaching experience, and completion of coaching and first aid courses, with ongoing professional growth and collaboration with administrators.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree required; contracted by KCMSD Board for the school year (full or part time).
• 1–3 years coaching experience.
• Knowledge of sport philosophy and coaching.
• Complete MSHSAA/NFHS Coaching Principles Course and Sports First Aid Courses.
• Strong commitment to student-athlete concept and understanding of collegiate eligibility regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the school athletic program and coaching staff.
• Comply with MSHSAA standards and attend required sessions.
• Supervise student-athletes during practices and contests.
• Maintain equipment and inventory; verify and document usage.
• Provide statistics after each contest to District Public Relations and media.
• Pursue ongoing professional development through clinics and district meetings.
