Job summary

William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri seeks a Head Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Coach to lead the program across on-field, academic and character development. This full-time exempt role reports to the Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics and demands strong leadership, recruiting and program budgeting.

You will supervise practices, coordinate travel, manage equipment, and collaborate with Strength and Conditioning, Athletic Training and other departments to foster

Qualifications

• Must have demonstrated ability in leading an athletic team.
• Must have experience with fundraising and revenue development.
• Experience with budget development and financial management.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to speak publicly without difficulty.
• Must have or be willing to attain a Class E driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Have a thorough knowledge of the sport of Track and Field.
• Be able to coach and communicate effectively.
• Be able to properly demonstrate running and training skills.
• Supervise all practices and workouts.
• Maintain an appropriate, consistent and fair level of discipline.
• Conduct themselves in a professional manner consistent with the values of the university.
• Recruit quality student-athletes.
• Monitor academic progress.
• Coordinate Budget and equipment/gear ordering in conjunction with the Head Cross Country Coach.
• Coordinate and provide administration for some home events.
• Coordinate with the athletic department on athletic scheduling.
• Entering all Track and Field athletes into events at meets.
• Report statistical information and game results to the WWU Sports Information Director.
• Coordinate transportation of team and travel requirements.
• Coordinate on and off campus Champions of Character activities.
• Work in conjunction with Strength and Conditioning Coach.
• Work in conjunction with Athletic Training Staff.
• Work with the university to foster alumni relations.
• Other duties as assigned.
