Job summary

Instructs athletes in fundamental skills, strategy and physical training to achieve individual and team success, while modeling character development, self‑discipline and pride of accomplishment.

Works with the athletic director to schedule practices, coordinate transportation, ensure policy compliance and supervise staff and student managers.

Promotes sportsmanship, mentor to athletes, communicates with parents and custodians, and implements safety procedures during practices and contests.

Qualifications

• Previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport.
• Other education/experience as accepted by the school board and administration

Responsibilities

• Establishes the fundamental philosophy, skills and techniques to be taught by staff.
• Trains and informs staff, encourages professional growth by encouraging clinic attendance.
• Delegates specific duties, supervises implementation and evaluates staff effectiveness.
• Maintains discipline and morale.
