Job summary

The Learning Experience – Columbus Circle in New York, NY seeks an experienced Lead Toddler Teacher to open and lead a brand-new Toddler classroom. You will establish routines, create a welcoming learning environment, and build relationships with new families alongside a supportive teaching team.

Responsibilities include leading the day-to-day operations, implementing the LEAP curriculum, and guiding the Assistant Teacher while ensuring safety and developmental progress.

Qualifications

• Candidates must meet one of the education/experience pathways.
• Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, or Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education, or CDA credential, or High School Diploma/GED plus at least 5 years of relevant early childhood experience.
• Previous toddler classroom experience is strongly preferred.
• Looking for someone confident leading a classroom with patience, consistency, and enthusiasm.

Responsibilities

• Lead the opening and day-to-day operation of a new Toddler classroom.
• Create a safe, nurturing, structured, and engaging learning environment.
• Implement The Learning Experience's proprietary L.E.A.P. Curriculum.
• Plan developmentally appropriate hands-on learning experiences.
• Encourage language, independence, movement, and social-emotional development.
• Establish consistent classroom routines and positive behavior guidance.
• Observe children's development and support individual milestones.
• Build strong relationships and communicate regularly with families.
• Guide and collaborate with your Assistant Teacher.
• Maintain classroom documentation, organization, and safety standards.
• Follow applicable New York City childcare requirements.

Lead Toddler Teacher – Early Childhood Education

Location: The Learning Experience – Columbus Circle, New York, NY

Pay: $20–$24 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday

Opening: New Toddler Classroom

The Learning Experience – Columbus Circle is expanding, and we're looking for an experienced Lead Toddler Teacher to help launch and lead our new Toddler classroom.

This is an exciting opportunity for an early childhood educator who wants to take ownership of a classroom from the beginning. You'll help establish routines, create a welcoming learning environment, build relationships with new families, and develop a strong classroom culture alongside a supportive teaching team.
