Job summary

Guidepost Montessori in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, is hiring a Lead Toddler Teacher to guide a class of 2-year-olds in a prepared Montessori environment.

You will support each child’s growth, independence, and confidence, providing individualized guidance and facilitating language and practical life skills. The position offers sponsorship for Montessori training and a collaborative community.

Qualifications

• Montessori education/training or pursuing it.
• Experience working with 0–3 year olds in group settings such as daycare, nursery, or similar.
• Familiarity with child-led philosophies (Montessori, Reggio Emilia) and openness to learning more.
• Qualified Group Teacher or actively pursuing degree in Early Childhood Education.
• High School diploma in English with official degree evaluation and translation.

Responsibilities

• Observe and attend to each child’s physical, intellectual, and emotional needs.
• Prepare an environment that supports independence, exploration, and deep learning.
• Help children develop self-reliance and practical life skills through guided activities.
• Provide language support and grace-and-courtesy lessons.
• Form personal connections with children and collaborate with parents for consistent care.
• Communicate respectfully with parents to ensure best outcomes for every child.

Education

Montessori-related credential/education

Experience with children ages 0-3

Familiarity with Reggio Emilia or Montessori

Group Teacher qualification (Early Childhood Education degree)

High School diploma in English with degree evaluation/translation
