Job summary

Archer is seeking a senior thermal analyst in San Jose to design and validate cooling systems for an all‑electric aircraft. You will work across airframe, propulsion, avionics, and battery teams to optimize thermal performance, validate CFD/FEA models, and support multi‑level testing in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• MS/PhD in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in thermal analysis and design within aerospace/automotive sectors.
• Strong heat transfer knowledge applied to aero/auto systems.
• CFD/FEA experience with relevant software packages.
• Experience with thermal testing and data correlation.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed thermal analysis of the airframe including external heating and radiation.
• Develop thermal management solutions for airframe composites to mitigate stress.
• Design and optimize cooling for aircraft systems and LRUs to meet limits.
• Conduct parametric studies to optimize thermal design of structures and systems.
• Develop and validate CFD/FEA models and correlate with test data.
• Support test campaigns at multiple levels and integrate results with designs.
• Collaborate with Aerodynamics, Airframe, Flight Control, Avionics, Battery, and Manufacturing teams.
