Job summary

The Flynn Center for the Performing Arts, Ltd. is seeking a Head Electrician to lead the electrical and lighting operations for all productions. The role supervises electricians, maintains dimming systems, and collaborates with the PM/LD/ME to deliver high production values.

The position requires 5–7 years of theatre electrical experience, strong leadership, and knowledge of ETC dimming and control systems. Union status with IATSE 919 is required or pursued upon hire.

Qualifications

• Managerial Experience (Required)
• 5-7 years' experience working as a Theatre Electrician
• Extensive knowledge of ETC dimming and controls
• CAD knowledge and lighting software interface
• Able to supervise crews of 10+ people

Responsibilities

• Supervise stage electricians to ensure safety and efficient use of personnel and equipment
• Hang, patch, focus, troubleshoot, and operate stage electrical systems
• Operate fly, Mainstage, and Flynn Space lighting as needed
• Create/update Flynn lighting plot for Mainstage and Flynn Space
• Maintain house lighting paperwork and patch books
• Coordinate cabling and power distribution for shows and productions
• Train union personnel and assist in certifications
• Collaborate with PM/LD/ME to realize production goals
• Work with external electricians for maintenance and upgrades
