Job summary

USAA seeks a dedicated Test Automation Engineer Lead to drive quality across the Investment Experience Technology group, leading QA across multiple Agile Scrum teams and defining automation strategy for web apps, APIs, and Salesforce integrations.

Based in the San Antonio or Plano area, the hybrid role requires in-office presence four days per week and offers a mission-driven, security-focused environment with opportunities to shape automation practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant education/experience.
6+ years of automated testing, quality engineering, or related testing disciplines.
Hands-on with AI-assisted testing to improve automation coverage and efficiency.
Expert knowledge of test automation frameworks and quality practices.
Experience leading test automation initiatives across multiple Agile Scrum teams.
Experience testing enterprise apps, APIs, integrations, and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

Collaborates with executive management to develop QA and automation strategies.
Drives scalable automation frameworks for web, Salesforce, APIs, event-driven, and batch apps.
Leads and mentors Quality Engineers across multiple Scrum teams.
Reviews complex test assets and provides guidance on automation architecture.
Drives adoption of modern testing technologies and continuous improvement.
