Job summary

Wolters Kluwer in the United States is seeking a Lead Test Automation Architect to define and drive an enterprise-grade test automation strategy across UI, API, data, and platform layers, including AI/LLM-based systems.

You will architect scalable automation frameworks, improve test efficiency, and align with product risk, release cadence, and CI/CD, while mentoring engineers and shaping quality gates.

Qualifications

• 8–12+ years in Quality Engineering / Test Automation with architect-level ownership of frameworks and strategy.
• Proven experience designing scalable automation across API testing (contract + integration).
• Proven experience designing scalable automation across UI automation with stable locator strategies (test IDs, accessibility roles).
• Strong programming skills in Java, Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or C#.
• Experience with Playwright/Cypress/Selenium for UI and REST-assured/SuperTest/Postman/Newman/pytest for API testing.
• Knowledge of CI tools like GitHub Actions/Jenkins/Azure DevOps and test data strategies.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the test automation architecture and multi-layer strategy (UI/API/contract/integration/e2e).
• Establish automation standards, patterns, and reference implementations.
• Drive shift-left testing (contract testing, component testing, pre-merge validation).
• Design and implement AI test models for non-deterministic outputs, with threshold-based assertions and evaluation harnesses.
• Lead automation program to improve execution speed, reduce flaky tests, and optimize CI/CD pipelines.
• Create engineering-friendly quality dashboards and reporting.
