Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Lead Technology Specialist in Tucson, AZ, to shape and deliver innovative solutions that improve customer experiences on our machines.

You will collaborate with Commercial, Engineering, and Strategy teams to define product requirements and develop long-term product strategies. You will lead cross-functional efforts to refine strategic goals, manage multi-gen product plans, and evolve roadmaps with engineering to ensure successful execution.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the definition and refinement of strategic goals for In Command for Hauling and Fleet features with cross-functional teams.
  • Develop and manage multi-generational product plans aligned to business objectives.
  • Establish and manage product line priorities and investments.
  • Define and prioritize market requirements, product capabilities and features.
  • Analyze market conditions and competitive landscapes to inform strategy.
  • Define success metrics and track product performance against objectives.
  • Drive alignment across cross-functional stakeholders through clear communication of strategy.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to evolve roadmaps and ensure execution.

In this role as a Lead Technology Specialist, you will help shape and deliver innovative solutions that help to improve customer experiences on our machines to address key customer challenges. You will collaborate closely with commercial, engineering, and strategy teams to define product requirements, prioritize initiatives, and develop long-term product strategies. This position plays a critical role in aligning business goals with customer needs and driving successful product outcomes.

What You Will Do:
  • Lead the definition and refinement of strategic goals for In Command for Hauling and Fleet features, working with cross-functional team members from Commercial, Strategy, Engineering and New Product Introduction.
  • Develop and manage multi-generational product plans aligned to business objectives
  • Establish and manage product line priorities and manage investments
  • Define, document, and prioritize market requirements, product capabilities, and features
  • Analyze market conditions and competitive landscapes to inform strategy
  • Define success metrics and track product performance against objectives
  • Drive alignment across cross-functional stakeholders through clear communication of strategy
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to evolve product roadmaps and ensure execution

Consideration for Top Candidates:
  • Prior experience supporting Mining Technology Products required
  • Experience understanding customer needs as it relates to business strategy for product road mapping and strategies.
  • Cross-functional experience across engineering, commercial, strategy, etc.
  • Construction or Mining experience preferred with knowledge of how customer use our machines; Proving Grounds, Surfacing Managing or Customer Job Site experience preferred.
  • Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Engineering, or related field preferred

Summary Pay Range:

$128,470.00 - $208,770.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location,job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
