Job summary

Restoration Management Company in Kent, WA seeks a Lead Technician I to oversee mitigation projects from start to finish. You will supervise a small crew, coordinate with project leadership, and ensure quality workmanship while maintaining safety standards and compliance with SOPs.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year in a lead technician role in restoration or construction, a valid driver’s license, and a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-year lead technician experience in construction or restoration/mitigation fields.
  • Valid Driver’s License with good driving record and insurability.
  • Understanding of safety guidelines and adherence to SOPs daily.
  • Ability to mentor technicians and apply daily safety practices.
  • Good command of English; Spanish bilingual preferred.
  • Industry certifications are a plus and may require medical exams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a small crew, coordinating schedules, scope changes and resources.
  • Maintain communications with Branch Manager, Project Manager and supervisors.
  • Order materials, move client contents and ensure high-quality workmanship.
  • Complete timecards, paperwork and field notes for billing.
  • Model safety policies and train technicians on safe practices.
  • Support technician development and on-site safety briefings.

Job Summary

The Lead Technician I must be able to lead each phase of the mitigation and/or environmental project from the initial stage to completion. This position reports directly to the Supervisor and could be co-managed by the Project Manager and/or Branch Manager of that location. Interfacing with other departments within the company may be required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain regular communications with key stakeholders including Branch Manager, Operations Manager, Project Manager, Supervisor and Project Coordinator for purposes of discussing matters relative to project schedules, changes in scope of work, material, and personnel resources to ensure smooth completion of project.
  • Perform necessary tasks to help expedite the completion of the job, including but not limited to: Pickup and order materials, moving client contents, performing necessary repairs at the highest quality while adhering to code regulations and industry standards.
  • Lead a small group of technicians, providing supervision and direction based on defined job parameters.
  • Maintaining company assigned vehicle and restock supplies as necessary.
  • Complete and turn in crew sheets and job notes at the end of each day.
  • Serve as role model in following and enforcing company policy and safety procedures while performing services.
  • Assist in development of technicians through mentoring, coaching, equipping, and encouraging development of skills.
  • Assist in jobsite safety briefings, providing training within scope of knowledge.
  • Complete timecards in a timely and accurate manner, ensure crew members do the same.
  • Turn in completed work orders including but not limited to: measurements, moisture readings, and necessary detailed paperwork for Project Manager to complete billing.
  • Maintain trade skills through regular training, as provided by company.
  • Continue building knowledge of company services, operations, and standard practices to support individual professional growth.
Experience / Requirements
  • Minimum 1-year experience in lead technician role in construction field, and/or restoration/mitigation field or experience gained through successfully meeting job requirements of Tech III.
  • Valid Driver’s License, with driving record in good standing (Class C)
  • Must be insurable
  • Displays understanding of safety guidelines, applies to daily tasks and holds accountable his crew for doing the same.
  • Possesses awareness of company handbook/policies, SOP’s and adheres to guidelines. Communicates desired outcomes and shares with crew through application of SOP’s in daily activities.
  • Supports development of technicians (crew) through demonstration, encouraging opportunities for growth
  • Good knowledge in use of hand tools, power tools, and other miscellaneous equipment to complete the job.
  • Continuous growth mindset, open to feedback and applies what they learn for themselves and teaches others.
  • Good grasp of English language (read, write, verbal)
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Able to pass Respirator Physical and obtain respiratory fit exam.
  • Can interpret and apply basic instructions (i.e. – Material Data Sheets)
  • Industry certifications preferred, with ability to pass medical exams if required for certification.
Safety Requirements
  • Regulatory Requirements: Adhere to all local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Required PPE may include gloves, masks, goggles, hard hats, and safety footwear. All employees must wear PPE as required for their specific roles and job site conditions.
  • Ergonomic Practices: Practice ergonomic principles to prevent musculoskeletal disorders. This includes proper desk setup, using adjustable chairs, and maintaining good posture while seated.
  • Office Safety Protocols: Adhere to established office safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment. This includes the following guidelines for the proper use of office equipment and ensuring that workspaces are free from clutter to prevent trips and falls.
  • Safety Training: Complete all mandatory safety training sessions, including but not limited to hazard communication, emergency response, and safe equipment handling.
  • Reporting Safety Concerns: Ability to identify and immediately report any unsafe conditions, hazards, incidents or injuries to supervisors without fear of retaliation.
  • Emergency Procedures: Familiarize yourself with emergency procedures relevant to your specific job site, including evacuation routes, and emergency contacts.
Physical Requirements
  • Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry materials or equipment weighing up to 25 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
  • Physical Activities: Ability to perform tasks that require, walking, bending, reaching, crouching, kneeling, climb, squat, crawl, lift above shoulder, reach, and twist.
  • Sitting and Standing: Prolonged sitting or standing required (in office, driving and/or at job sites). Regular alternating between sitting and standing
  • Repetitive Motions: Continuous repetitive motion and tasks involving L/R hand movement (computer/mouse), wrists, or arms (e.g., typing, data entry).
  • Machinery Operation: Capacity to operate machinery and tools as required by job tasks, which may involve fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
  • Visual Ability: requirement for clear vision (e.g., close work, computer use, eye coordination)
Working Conditions
Office Environment
  • Indoor office setting for corporate roles, including working with standard office equipment (computers, phones, printers). May involve regular meetings, (in person or zoom) and collaboration with team members.
Field Environment
  • Outdoor fieldwork at restoration sites, which may include residential, commercial, or industrial properties. Duties may involve exposure to different weather conditions (sun, rain, snow, heat).
Hazardous Environments
  • Potential exposure to hazardous materials, chemicals, or contaminants specific to restoration work, requiring strict adherence to safety protocols and use of PPE.
  • Work after hours and weekends given our 24/7 business operations
Travel Requirements
  • May include travel to and from job sites, requiring the use of company vehicles. Possibility of attending out-of-town training or conferences.
