Job summary

Alliance Technical Group in Sulphur, LA is seeking an Experienced Level Monitoring Technician positioned to advance to Lead Technician. The role offers competitive pay, quarterly bonuses, a 401K match, PTO, and strong benefits beginning the month you start.

We are targeting a starting wage of $22/hr. You will perform inspections and sampling across hazardous waste streams, manage canister changes, NDE inspections, and safety-focused tasks in a refinery/chemical setting while adhering to M21

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Lead Technician: minimum of 12 months of experience as a technician.
• Must pass M21 testing requirements and stay current in M21 annual testing and safety training.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Carbon Canister Inspection and Change Out
• Centrifuge Carbon Can Inspection and Change Out
• Visual Drain Inspections
• Roll Off Box NDE
• Carbon Can NDE
• Cooling Tower Samples
• Miscellaneous Samples from Frac Tanks, Roll Off Boxes etc.
• Hazardous Waste Spill Clean Up
• Move and Organize Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Drums
• Escort Vehicles as needed
• Monthly Hazardous Waste Inspection (Aerosol Cans, Oily Rags, Satellite Accumulation)
• Quarterly Hazardous Waste Accumulation (Used Batteries)
• Line Roll Off Boxes
• Confined Space Work as needed
• Various NDE Inspections
• Labeling Hazardous and Non-hazardous

QUALIFICATIONS

• EDUCATION REQUIREMENT – High School Diploma or GED
• Lead Technician: Minimum of 12 months of experience as a technician
• Must pass M21 Testing Requirements and remain current in M21 annual testing and safety training

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Outdoor work in petroleum refinery or chemical processing facility walking and standing for prolonged periods of time.
• Adverse weather conditions (extreme hot/cold and inclement weather.)
• May be required to carry a testing device, data logger, hand tools and miscellaneous equipment that weigh about 30 lbs. The testing devices are carried in a backpack. Other tools and equipment are carried on a tool belt or in pockets.
• The work involves ascending stairs, climbing vertical ladders, and working from elevated heights (sometimes with personal fall protection equipment) while wearing equipment described above.
• All outdoor work is performed wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), which includes a hardhat, fire retardant coveralls, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety boots and when required, a 5- point safety harness.
