Job summary

Elite Line Services in SeaTac, WA is seeking a Lead Technician to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Baggage Handling Systems and Passenger Boarding Bridges. You will mentor, train and develop maintenance staff, read manuals, diagnose equipment failures, and ensure safe operation while maintaining quality standards.

This role requires a high school diploma and 4+ years of mechanical or electrical experience, plus the ability to work non-traditional hours, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Completes and assigns maintenance including preventive, routine and emergency maintenance; shift inspections, cleaning, and/or electrical/mechanical adjustments.

• Provides direction and expertise to other personnel; conducts training and mentoring responsibilities; assigns tasks.
• Reads and interprets repair manuals, schematics, blueprints and manufacturer instructions to perform maintenance.
• Operates in tight/high spaces using PPE and fall protection; adheres to safety and quality standards.

Overview

Completes and assigns scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair of Baggage Handling Systems and/or Passenger Boarding Bridges; Mentors, trains and develops other personnel assigned to assist in maintenance and repair activities.

Responsibilities

• Completes and assigns maintenance assignments involving but not limited to preventive, routine and emergency maintenance, clearing system jams; shift inspections, cleaning, and/or electrical and mechanical adjustments.
• Monitors system operation; diagnoses equipment failures; ensures equipment is running safely.
• Provides direction, guidance and expertise to other personnel assigned to assist in maintenance and repair activities; conducts training and mentoring responsibilities, assigns tasks, may act as point of contact in the absence of site management.
• Demonstrates professionalism in their appearance, manner and communications with both direct and indirect airport/airline personnel and coworkers in a clear and precise effort while maintaining site moral, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement standards
• Reads and interprets repair manuals, computer based programs, schematics, blue prints and manufacture Instruction to perform preventative maintenance, repair and service on designated equipment.
• Works in tight and/or high spaces utilizing appropriate PPE and fall protection equipment.
• Follows and complies with all company and federally established regulations, policies and procedures; completes all applicable training courses assigned by the company
• Completes and monitors work assignments of direct personnel according to established tasks, procedures a team working environment and checklists while working alongside your team to set the example as you reinforce policy and develop
• Ensures compliance with all ELS safety programs, policies and procedures. Assists in monitoring the ELS Safety program at the site level to raise individual awareness, build a safety culture and reach the goal of zero injuries while adhering to the ELS's Key Performance Indicators.
• Ensures compliance with all ELS quality processes and procedures. Assists in monitoring the ELS Quality program at the site level to provide our customer with the highest level of value and consistent quality service.
• Perform additional duties/assignments that may be required by management.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
• Minimum 4 years of previous mechanical or electrical experience
• Ability to work a non-traditional schedule including weekends and holidays.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous work experience in an Airport environment.
• Previous experience working on conveyors and/or passenger boarding bridges
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and engineering drawings.
• Basic knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in an industrial environment.
• Minimum 4 years of previous basic electrical and/or electronic systems work experience.
• 5+ years industrial mechanical and/or electrical background
• Minimum 3 years' experience with PLC logic, industrial electrical controls (troubleshooting and repair), and/or Industrial HVAC certification
• Advanced computer skills.
• Minimum 3 years' experience mentoring/guiding and directing maintenance personnel
