Job summary

Level is seeking a Lead Technical Designer to steer technical design vision and mentor a team of designers. You will advocate for design workflows, ensuring quality and consistency while collaborating across engineering and art teams on complex features.

The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience in technical design, strong communication skills, and proficiency in rapid prototyping. A passion for education and experience with engines like Godot, Unreal, or Unity are preferred.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in technical design, systems design, or related engineering roles with at least 2 years in a lead or senior mentorship capacity.
• Demonstrated history of shipped titles with complex technical design systems and a clear problem-solving approach.
• Experience leading, coaching, or formally managing junior designers or engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of junior technical designers.
• Own the technical design vision for core systems and mechanics across product portfolio.
• Collaborate with Engineers, Artists, and Product leads to deliver complex feature development.
