Job summary

HayloARC, a division of Haymarket Media, seeks a Lead Architect to guide the architecture of the HayloARC DSP platform and shape the enterprise tech backbone from its New York City office on a hybrid schedule.

You will drive cloud infrastructure evolution, orchestrate a modern data warehouse, and pioneer predictive modeling/AI while mentoring engineers and guiding build vs buy decisions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field.
  • 4 years of experience as a Technical Architect.
  • Experience designing complex systems, open source, or internally developed, ensuring scalability and web best practices.
  • Experience with C# (essential), JavaScript/TypeScript, Python is a plus.
  • Experience with architectural patterns (Event-Driven, Microservices, CQRS).
  • Experience documenting system architecture and design.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to business stakeholders and clients.
  • Experience with serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda, GCP Cloud Functions.
  • Experience with Docker or other containerization.
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Knowledge of security best practices regarding data, file storage, and SDLC.
  • Experience with system observability and monitoring performance.
  • Experience working in an agile environment such as Scrum, Kanban.
  • Experience evaluating enterprise platforms, vendors, and RFPs.
  • Experience managing simultaneous projects and prioritizing tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the VP Enterprise Architecture, lead the design and development of the HayloARC platform.
  • Partner with the Product team to translate business requirements into a robust, scalable technical roadmap.
  • Coordinate with the Development, Data Engineering and BI teams to build effective solutions, ensuring clear communication of technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with the DevOps team on the architecture, design and scalability of the Cloud infrastructure.
  • Own the external integration strategy, focusing on scalable API design, efficient client onboarding, and managing vendor/partner data exchange to ensure seamless interoperability.
  • Proactively manage technical debt by balancing long-term architectural health against immediate business requirements.
  • Drive adoption of modern development practices and standards.
  • Collaborate with product and finance teams on project schedules and budgets.
  • Develop ongoing innovation as we begin to integrate predictive modeling and early AI into product features.
  • Mentor the Development team to foster technical growth and excellence.
  • Keep up to date with industry trends and platforms to address business needs, and drive innovation.
  • Responsible for evaluating vendors and solutions to recommend build vs buy.

This position is located in our New York City office on a hybrid work schedule; three (3) days in office depending on business needs. This is a technical leadership position requiring experience in advertising technology.

  • The salary range for this position is $150,000--$170,000. Compensation will be commensurate with experience, skill level, functional and/or industry knowledge, education level, certifications, as well as other qualifications.
