Job summary

Universal Health Services, Inc. in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Lead Behavioral Health Technician to join Valley Hospital's treatment team. The role emphasizes patient care, safety, and collaboration with nursing staff to support treatment goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with behavioral health education/experience, or an Associate/Bachelor's in related field.
• CPR certification required at hire and renewed annually.
• Completion of SAMA training (restraint/seclusion) within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous patient care and supervise patients as part of the treatment team.
• Take and record vital signs; monitor patient location per policy.
• Observe changes in appearance, behavior, or progress toward goals and report to nurse.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to the RN and participate in care planning.

The hours for this position are: FLoat, 7:00AM TO 7:30PM

The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) functions as an active and integral part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients.. The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) works under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) will take and record vital signs properly. Monitor each patients location per the Observation Policy and Procedure. Utilize sound judgment during assessment and observe and documents any changes in a patient's appearance, behavior or ability to work toward treatment plan goals. Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or GED as well as a combination of behavioral health education and work experience totaling 4 years; or an Associate degree plus two years or work experience in a behavioral health; or a Bachelor’ s degree in social services or related field. May work flexible hours and float to different units depending on the needs of the hospital

Additional Requirements: CPR certification upon hire and must be renewed on an annual basis. Successful completion of (SAMA) including restraint and seclusion policies, within 30 days of employment, and prior to assisting in restraining procedures
