Job summary

KinderCare Learning Companies is seeking a Lead Teacher to guide and mentor teachers, implement the center’s curriculum, and create a safe, engaging learning environment. You will partner with parents to support each child’s growth and work with staff to meet enrollment and accreditation goals.

You will lead a classroom, ensure high-quality interactions, and comply with state regulations, while fostering community and delivering exceptional early education experiences for children and families.

Qualifications

  • Outstanding customer service and strong organizational skills are required.
  • Must hold or be pursuing a CDA credential and meet state qualifications.
  • 2–3 years of Early Childhood Education experience preferred; Bachelor’s degree in ECE preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English to communicate with children and parents.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and mentor teachers in the classroom and provide feedback.
  • Implement curriculum consistent with each child’s needs.
  • Create a safe, nurturing environment for play and learning.
  • Partner with parents to support children’s education.
  • Support enrollment, accreditation and engagement goals at the center.
  • Build positive relationships with families, teachers, licensing authorities, and partners.

When you join our team as a Lead Teacher you will:

  • Lead, coach and mentor less experienced teachers in your classroom; model behaviors and provide feedback
  • Implement KinderCare's curriculum in a way that is consistent with the unique needs of each child
  • Create a safe, nurturing environment where children can play and learn
  • Partner and connect with parents, with a shared desire to provide the best care and education for their children
  • Support your center’s success; partner with center staff and leadership to achieve goals around enrollment, accreditation, and engagement
  • Cultivate positive relationships with families, teachers, state licensing authorities, community contacts and corporate partners

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Outstanding customer service skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and handle multiple situations effectively
  • Possess active Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential or meet NAEYC candidacy requirements
  • Approved state trainer (preferred)
  • 2-3 years Early Childhood Education Experience (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (preferred)
  • Meet state specific qualifications for the role or willingness to obtain
  • CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain
  • Use a computer, lift a minimum of 40 pounds, and work indoors or outdoors
  • Be able to make physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with children
  • Read, write, understand, and speak English to communicate with children and their parents in English

Range of pay $16.85 - $21.60 Hourly

In the state of Minnesota, we currently provide an additional $3.00 per hour premium on all classroom hours worked in addition to the range of pay listed. This premium is funded through the Minnesota Great Start Grant Compensation Support Program.
