Job summary

Sheltering Arms is seeking a Lead Teacher for Georgia’s Pre-K program. You will ensure care and education for a group of children, assist in planning and implementing the curriculum, and help create a positive, inclusive learning environment.

You will maintain safety, support development across physical, language, and cognitive domains, and collaborate with families and staff to meet each child’s needs. Strong knowledge of GELDS and state standards is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of GELDS and Georgia Pre-K program requirements.
• Familiarity with safety and supervision standards for early learning.
• Ability to plan activities aligned with developmental progress.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an orderly learning environment and safety checks daily.
• Plan and implement curriculum with a balance of child/teacher-initiated activities.
• Support social, emotional, and language development through hands-on activities.
• Greet and communicate with families; provide updates on child activities.
• Collaborate with staff and leadership to ensure materials and assessments are current.
