Job summary

The Miami Children’s Museum Early Childhood Institute is hiring a Toddler Teacher to guide infants and toddlers through warm, joyful learning experiences inspired by play and inquiry. As Infant/Toddler Lead Teacher you will plan developmentally appropriate activities, document progress, and collaborate with co-teachers and leadership to maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.

The role requires 5+ years of experience with young children, CDA or 45 DCF hours, a related degree, and

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with infants and/or toddlers.
• CDA credential or completion of 45 DCF hours required by Florida.
• Degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Child Development, or a related field.
• Strong communication skills with children, families, and staff.
• First Aid & CPR certification or willingness to obtain before start date.
• Must pass a Level 2 background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Safety, health, and emotional well-being of all children at all times.
• Provide responsive caregiving, including diapering and feeding.
• Plan and implement weekly lesson plans aligned with Reggio Emilia and play-based learning.
• Create a predictable, flexible routine with active/quiet and small-group experiences.
• Support sensory exploration, movement, language, and early social-emotional skills.
• Observe and document development using ASQ and daily observations; communicate with families.
• Collaborate with co-teachers and leadership to maintain a warm, inclusive team.
• Attend annual training and follow all policies in the ECI and Museum handbooks.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
