Job summary

OneMain Financial in Irving, TX seeks a Lead Accountant - Tax Reporting to support the Tax Director in managing indirect tax matters. You will accumulate, analyze, and process data for tax returns, assist with filing sales/use and property taxes, and collaborate with internal teams to improve processes.

Strong Excel and BI skills are essential. The role requires 4+ years in indirect tax within corporate or public accounting, cross-functional teamwork, and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• 4+ years indirect tax experience in corporate or public accounting.
• Ability to work as part of cross-functional teams in a fast-paced organization.
• Ability to multi-task and provide attention to detail.
• Strong analytical, communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
• Strong technical aptitude with large data sets and reporting/BI readiness.

Responsibilities

• Accumulate, analyze, and process data used to prepare tax returns and workpapers.
• Assist with preparation and filing of sales/use tax returns and property tax renditions by facilitating data flow to outside tax applications.
• Interact with internal teams to improve processes and gather documentation for tax filings.
• Prepare, organize, and transform data from multiple sources to support tax reporting and BI needs.
• Assist in management of state and local audits for indirect taxes.
• Research taxability of transactions and determine proper filing jurisdictions.
