Job summary

Belay Technologies is seeking a System Engineer to join our intel team in a lead role. You will guide a small DevOps/SysAdmin squad, manage Linux platforms, and drive automation across AWS and container deployments for mission-critical data workflows.

You will mentor colleagues, implement observability with Kibana, Grafana, and Prometheus, and ensure security and SSP compliance while coordinating with a larger software-engineering organization.

Qualifications

• TS/SCI Clearance with polygraph.
• 12 yrs., B.S. in a technical discipline or 4 additional yrs. in place of B.S.
• Strong Linux system administration experience (RHEL9).
• Proficient in automation and scripting: Ansible, Terraform, Packer, Bash, Python.
• Experience with containerization: Podman and Kubernetes.
• Experience with AWS: EC2, S3, VPC, IAM.
• Observability with Kibana, Grafana, Prometheus.
• Familiarity with Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Redis, and graph databases.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and direct the daily tasks of two system administrators.
• Collaborate with and support the larger team of 25+ software engineers.
• Provide guidance for overall system design and setup with software teams.
• Maintain system platforms and health of all servers (EC2, MASH, bare metal).
• Oversee system maintenance, security, and SSP accreditations.
• Observability of the system: automation, monitoring, alerting, backups, DR.
• Maintain deployment automation: CI/CD in GitLab.
• Ensure system documentation is up to date and conduct reviews and post-mortems.
• Maintain base Linux kickstart images (RHEL9).
