Job summary

Honeywell is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to design, implement, and manage complex systems across various industries. Based in Salem, OR, you will work on a hybrid schedule reporting to the Sr Engineering Manager.

You will guide hardware, software, and network components, drive project execution, enforce security standards, and lead system deployments with a focus on reliability and performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in full stack software development.
  • Proficiency in React, TypeScript, HTML, CSS.
  • Experience with Node.js backend.
  • Experience with GCP, AWS, or Azure.
  • Knowledge of MongoDB and SQL.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Experience using GitHub and Jira.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Proven ability to drive software projects.

Job description

As a Lead Systems Engineer here at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in the design, implementation, and management of complex systems and solutions that drive innovation, safety, and efficiency across various industries.

You will report directly to our Sr Engineering Manager and you’ll work out of our Salem, OR location on a Hybrid work schedule.

In this role, you will impact the successful execution of complex engineering projects by supporting the design and development of advanced systems, including hardware, software, and network components, ensuring alignment with Honeywell's quality standards and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the design and development of advanced systems, including hardware, software, and network components
  • Provide successful execution of complex engineering projects
  • Implement and enforce security measures and compliance standards to safeguard systems and data
  • Lead the deployment and configuration of systems, ensuring they are installed correctly, tested rigorously, and perform optimally
  • Provide technical leadership in identifying and resolving system issues, minimizing downtime, and ensuring systems remain operational
  • Identify opportunities for process and system improvements, implement enhancements, and contribute to the optimization of operations
Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in full stack software development.
  • Proficiency in front-end technologies including React, TypeScript, HTML, CSS
  • Experience with back-end technologies such as Node.js
  • Experience with cloud technologies such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
  • Knowledge of other database systems such as MongoDB, SQL
  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
  • Experience using GitHub, Jira, and other collaborative tools
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Proven ability to drive successful software development projects and initiatives.
