Job summary

St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, part of Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, seeks an Advanced Surgical Oncologist to lead complex oncologic cases within the Center for Digestive Health. The role emphasizes teaching residents, building a robust referral network, and MDT collaboration.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of clinical experience in surgical oncology.
• Experience in resident education and mentorship.
• Strong program-building and partnership development.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced surgical care for oncologic diseases including HPB cancers, gastric cancer, sarcoma, melanoma and other complex malignancies.
• Educate and mentor general surgery residents in advanced oncologic techniques.
• Collaborate with medical, radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists and other specialists for integrated patient care.
• Build partnerships within the medical community and with referring providers.
