AVANGRID seeks a Manager - Lead Supervisor to oversee gas maintenance and operations across multiple NY sites. You will mentor supervisors, drive safety and performance, and manage daily activities for field crews and contractors to ensure system integrity and customer satisfaction.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s or higher with extensive gas industry experience, strong leadership, and the ability to respond after hours for emergencies. Competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with minimum 6 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Associate’s degree with minimum 8 years of relevant experience preferred.
• High School Diploma/GED with 10 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of gas work and construction.
• Knowledge of gas distribution construction and maintenance, labor agreement, safety manual, leak detection methods, procedures and instrumentation.
• Knowledge of NEC, NESC, Hazmat, and OSHA.

The salary range for this position is based on experience level ranging from $116,000 to $145,000 plus up to 16% bonus

Job Summary

Ensures that construction and maintenance is completed in accordance with construction standards, following approved policies, procedures, safety rules and budgets. Mentor and actively assist in enhancing the skill development of supervisors to foster employee growth, development leadership skills, and strengthen succession planning within the organization. Manage the daily activities of supervisors and employees responsible for the gas construction and maintenance activities. Supervises both company employees and contractor crews in the construction, operation, and maintenance of gas distribution systems to ensure system integrity and public safety. May interact with customers (internal & external) to solve problems/concerns and ensure customer satisfaction. Provides both the administrative and managerial supervision to field Supervisors and bargaining unit employees.

Key Responsibilities

• Plans and oversees work of gas departments. Supervises to ensure safe and efficient operation of the daily field activities of both Company and various contractor construction crews. May resolve customer issues when needed. May provide assistance to Technical Services on new construction and rebuilding existing plants. Works closely with the PSC and local government agencies.
• Schedules the work of line or street crews. Assess the scope of projects and assigns the appropriate crew and skills balance. Arranges for any special equipment and ensures that all material needs are met.
• Administers damage claims and billing, leak reports, time sheets, store orders, job kitting, work order balancing, material review, compliance with safety rules and regulations, standards of excellence and/or service guarantees. Monitors accuracy of Gas Records for auditing purposes and ensure compliance.
• Oversees construction office and support budget management. May coordinate department activities with local and state highway departmental officials.
• Aligns work practices to ensure maximum consistency and flexibility amongst all work groups.
• Supervises emergency restoration.
• Coordinates safety training, documentation, inspections, and accident investigations. May be responsible for labor relations contract administration and communications. May conduct employee evaluations for annual performance appraisal process.

Education & Experience Required

• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 6 years’ relevant experience preferred
• Associate’s with a minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience preferred
• High School Diploma/GED required with 10 years’ relevant experience.
• Knowledge of gas work and construction.
• Knowledge of gas distribution construction and maintenance, labor agreement, safety manual, leak detection methods, procedures and instrumentation.
• Knowledge of industry codes including NEC, NESC, Hazmat, and OSHA.

Certifications

• Valid Drivers License.
• May require various DOT Operator Qualifications.
