David E. Looper & Company (DELCO) seeks an experienced Superintendent to lead field operations on student housing and multifamily projects in the Hickory area.

You will oversee safety, quality, schedule, and subcontractor coordination, working closely with Project Leadership to deliver on time and within budget. We value strong leadership, hands-on site management, and the ability to read complex plans and submittals.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of superintendent experience leading commercial construction projects.
• Experience leading student housing, multifamily, or large-scale woodframe projects preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret complex plans, specifications, and submittals.
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all jobsite operations and field personnel.
• Develop and drive the project schedule with the Project Manager.
• Lead subcontractor coordination meetings and monitor daily.
• Ensure work meets quality standards and project specs.
• Identify risks and schedule impacts; implement solutions.
• Serve as primary onsite contact for owners, consultants, inspectors.
• Oversee daily reports, documentation, photos, and closeout deliverables.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to assistants and field staff.
• Support preconstruction planning, site logistics, and budget alignment.
• Perform minimal physical tasks only when necessary for safety.
