Job summary

Kimley-Horn is seeking a Substation Physical Design Engineer in Philadelphia, PA with 4+ years of substation experience. The role focuses on HV/MV design, layouts, grounding, and protection coordination for utilities, renewables, and industrial clients.

Qualifications

4+ years of relevant engineering experience in substation design.
Preferred: Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, or ability to obtain within 12 months.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation and Inventor.
Experience with grounding, lightning protection, and lighting studies.

Responsibilities

Perform HV/MV substation physical/electrical design including layouts and one-line diagrams.
Develop equipment arrangements, grounding and lightning protection schemes, and drawings.
Lead technical reviews and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams.
Create BOMs and support proposals for substation projects.
Plan client meetings and mentor junior engineers.
