Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. seeks a Senior Engineer – Physical, Substation to lead end-to-end substation physical design for projects from 12kV to 500kV. You will apply NESC, NEC, IEEE, and ASCE standards with technical ownership and provide client direction.

You will mentor staff, drive design reviews, and contribute to scope development and proposal support while coordinating across disciplines to ensure fully constructible packages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in substation physical design engineering.
• Proven ability to lead complex engineering deliverables with accuracy and quality.
• Strong knowledge of NESC, NEC, IEEE, ASCE and client-specific design requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead substation physical design projects with full ownership of scope and deliverables.
• Provide direction for general arrangements, equipment layouts, and cable routing.
• Develop and review complex designs for station configuration and constructability.
• Perform and oversee grounding design studies and bus loading calculations.
• Review calculations for station service and DC system requirements for accuracy.
• Coordinate multi-discipline design integration and document QA/QC activities.
